'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' News, Release Date: Jeff Goldblum Teases What to Expect of Ian Malcolm's Return

"Jurassic Park" fans are in for a treat next year, as Dr. Ian Malcolm will be appearing in "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."

Fans already know by now that Jeff Goldblum is reprising his role in the upcoming "Jurassic World" sequel, but the actor recently sat down with Radio Times and teased just how much of his character one can expect to see.

"Ian Malcolm, yes, might be back in this one. And he might have something to say about the current confluence of circumstances around the use and MISUSE of technology," Goldblum previewed. "With some wry irony, but some deep, wise, passionate conviction, he might! He might. And he might put on a nice dark bit of clothing here and there. A bit of tinted glass maybe."

Goldblum has always been the voice of reason ever since the first "Jurassic Park" film. Now, it looks like he will definitely be needed in the upcoming sequel. While not much is known about the plot of "Fallen Kingdom," it has been said that it will explore dinosaurs being weaponized and, as Goldblum himself previously revealed, "serious issues of greed."

It has also been said that the upcoming sequel will be darker and more frightening than 2015's "Jurassic World." Chris Pratt, who reprises his role as Owen Grady, even teased an "unexpected" storyline.

Apart from Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard also reprises her role as Claire Dearing. Throughout the course of production, the actress actively shared set photos on social media. In July earlier this year, production on the sequel wrapped, and Howard posted a photo of her and Pratt hugging.

In other news, Heroic Hollywood reports that the Lego sets for "Fallen Kingdom" may provide some insight into what the movie has in store for viewers. It looks like Pteranodons and Raptors will return, as well as the mighty T-Rex.

"Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" will premiere on June 22, 2018.
