'Justice League' Cast Members Willing to Do a Crossover Movie with Marvel Counterpart

While fans continue to debate as to which is better between DC and Marvel, the cast members of the upcoming "Justice League" movie have expressed their willingness to do a crossover project with their Marvel counterpart.

The rivalry between Marvel and DC dates back the heydays of comic books. Although comic books are not as popular as they used to be in the past decades, the comparison between the two companies continues upon the formation of their respective cinematic universes: The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and DCEU (DC Extended Universe).

The MCU came into existence in 2008 via Robert Downey, Jr.'s "Iron Man," and the ball just kept rolling for the interconnected stories of Marvel superheroes since then. The DCEU, on the other hand, kicked off in 2013 via Henry Cavill's "Man of Steel," which was followed by the heavily criticized "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and " Suicide Squad" last year. Because of the DCEU's many flaws in storytelling, many opine that it pales in comparison to the MCU.

Thankfully, the DCEU  was redeemed by last summer's biggest blockbuster, Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman," which did not only end up as the highest-grossing DCEU movie but the most critically acclaimed, too. While it remains unclear if the DCEU is, indeed, heading towards the right direction now because of "Wonder Woman's" influence, fans are hopeful that things will continue to do well with the DCEU, especially with "Justice League," DC's answer to Marvel's "Avengers."

Nonetheless, despite the rivalry between the MCU and the DCEU, cast members of "Justice League" have recently expressed their willingness to do a crossover movie with their Marvel counterparts. For Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in "Justice League," the idea would be great and would surely be a success in the event it becomes a reality. Gadot, Cavill, and Jason Momoa, who plays the role of Aquaman in "Justice League," all agreed with Affleck.

"(Chris) Hemsworth? I love him. And to be next to Thor, or even be next to Hulk and be like (looks up), and to just get whacked by him? I'd be like, 'Ohhh, I'm gonna take you underwater and drown your ass.' [...] It'd be fun," Momoa said.

Will a crossover movie between MCU and the DCEU happen? Fans can only hope so. Meanwhile, "Justice League" hits the theaters this Nov. 17.
