'Justice League' Updates: Armie Hammer Belies Reports Saying He is Green Lantern

While rumors claiming that "Justice League" will introduce a Hal Jordan Green Lantern to be played by Armie Hammer are loud, the actor has recently dismissed all the speculations as he revealed that not even a single person from Warner Bros has reached out to him for the movie.

Speculations on "Justice League" featuring a Green Lantern member have been around for quite a while already. However, fans suspected all the more that it will be the case upon the release of its trailer at last July's SDCC 2017 (San Diego Comic Con), teasing the arrival of a mysterious character.

While there are those who believe that the mysterious character being teased is none other than Superman (Henry Cavill) or Supergirl, there are also those who suspect that it can be Green Lantern. For some eagle-eyed fans, the speck of green light reflecting on Alfred's (Jeremy Irons) eyeglasses while talking to someone is a hint that Batman's (Ben Affleck) butler is talking to Green Lantern.

As of this writing, there is no way for fans to tell whether the mysterious character featured in the said scene is Green Lantern indeed. However, it has surely fueled the rumors claiming that Hammer is set to make his debut in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) as he portrays the role of a Hal Jordan Green Lantern, which was last portrayed in 2011 by now "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds. After all, it was no less than Hammer himself who planted the seeds of the rumors by trolling about the subject late last year.

In a  recent interview, Hammer has dispelled all the rumors on him playing Green Lantern in "Justice League." According to the actor, nobody from Warner Bros. has called him to be a part of the DCEU and debut via the upcoming movie.

"No one's called me. No, nothing," Hammer insisted.

This is not the first time for Hammer to belie the rumors, though, as the actor also made a similar statement back in June. Nonetheless, it is apparent that some fans are either not buying his statements or are still hoping for him to play the role, even photoshopping him as the green-suited and magical ring-wielding superhero.

Will "Justice League" really introduce a Green Lantern? Could Hammer actually be portraying the character despite his denial?

Find out when "Justice League" hits the theaters this Nov. 17.
