'Justice League' Updates: Highly Anticipated Movie Predicted to Earn $150 Million on Opening Weekend

While "Justice League"  is not expected to hit the theaters in less than two months time, it is now predicted that the highly anticipated DC and Warner Bros. movie will pale in comparison to the opening weekend box-office performance of "Avengers."

As "Justice League" is considered to be DC and Warner Bros.' answer to Marvel's "Avengers," fans can't help but anticipate how the former will fare at the box-office, given that the latter holds the third spot for the movie with the highest opening weekend of all time.

While many avid DC fans are positive that "Justice League" will make money, the latest prediction by industry pundits claims that it will only make $150 million on its opening weekend, or roughly $57 million short of "Avengers" opening weekend record in 2012.

It is interesting to note, though, that DC and Warner Bros. movies often surpass the figures predicted of them. For instance, last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was predicted to open only with $154 million but ended up with $166 million on its opening weekend.

"Suicide Squad," on the other hand, was forecasted to open with $98 million but delivered a surprising $133 million during its first three days of release. Recently, "Wonder Woman" also surpassed its share of opening weekend box-office record forecast as it made $101 million when it was predicted to only make $83 million within its first weekend at the theaters.

As of this writing, it remains unclear if "Justice League" can match the opening weekend box-office record of "Avengers" or prove the predictions true. However, as it was reported that those who were privileged to see the advance screening of the movie recently find the movie supposedly "epic," it is not entirely impossible for "Justice League" to come close to "Avengers" box-office performance, not only during its opening weekend but overall. After all, word of mouth is powerful in luring the public into the theaters.

"Justice League" hits the theaters this Nov. 17.
