Kate Beckinsale Comes Forward With Her Own Account of Experiencing Sexual Harassment From Harvey Weinstein

Kate Beckinsale comes out with her own account of experiencing sexual harassment at the hands of Harvey Weinstein when she was 17.

On Friday, actress Kate Beckinsale took to Instagram to share a time when she was called to the hotel room of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein back when she was 17-years-old.

According to her, she was called in to meet with Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel in what she would assume would be held in a conference room. However, when she got there, the receptionist directed her towards Weinstein's room, and there, the then-budding actress was greeted by the producer who was still in his bathrobes.

"I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older ,unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him," Beckinsale says. She would then decline Weinstein's offer of a drink and left saying she had school in the morning. The "Underworld" star explained she had left "uneasy but unscathed."

A few years after that encounter, Weinstein would ask her if he had tried anything with her during their first meeting and that was when she had realized that the producer couldn't remember if he had assaulted her or not.

Unfortunately for the 44-year-old actress, she would have to fend off Weinstein's advances for a number of years, and there was even a time when the latter called her a "c--t." The producer would also joke how "Kate lives to say no to me."

Kate Beckinsale is just one of many other women who had come forward with their own experiences of sexual harassment from Harvey Weinstein. Gwyneth Paltrow and Angeline Jolie had come forward with their own personal accounts, and just recently, Cara Delevingne and Eva Green had also spoken out.

It seems that Harvey Weinstein's inappropriate conduct towards women is no secret in Hollywood as actress Jane Fonda had confessed to CNN's Christiane Amanpour how she had heard rumors about the producer but felt it wasn't her place to come forward with it.
