Kate Middleton Considers C-Section, Will Breastfeed Royal Heir?

Kate Middleton is reportedly open to having a c-section depending on what her doctors advise when she goes into labor.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, is just weeks away from giving birth and she is said to be considering which birthing method is best to deliver the royal heir. She and Prince William will welcome their first child in July.

"When it comes to the birth itself, Kate will leave all the decisions to the doctors on the day about whether it's a natural birth, what pain control she'll have or if it needs to be a Caesarean," Robert Jobson, a royal correspondent, told Now magazine.

Middleton, who is no stranger to breaking royal tradition, will reportedly again do so by opting to breast feed her newborn. The late Princess Diana was allegedly the first royal family member to breastfeed her first born son William.

"I'm sure she'll do exactly what most women in this country do which is to breastfeed," author Daisy Goodwin said in an interview on "20/20: Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition."

During Middleton's 2011 royal wedding to William she opted to travel to her wedding by car instead of ceremonial coach, breaking centuries of royal tradition. In another controversial move, the Duchess will reportedly follow in the steps of Princess Diana by giving birth at St. Mary's Hospital, which is the same hospital where Princes William and Harry were born,

"The baby will be born at St. Mary's hospital in London, where Princes William and Harry were born," royal correspondent for ABC News, Victoria Arbiter, said.

"Traditionally the Royals have had the baby at home. Diana did have William and Harry in the hospital," Arbiter previously revealed.

Middleton's younger sister Pippa is said to be planning a baby shower for the pregnant Duchess, which is yet another move that would break royal tradition.

"It was her sister Pippa's idea," the alleged friend told OK! magazine. The mom-to-be is hoping her husband Prince William's grandmother makes an appearance.

"While it's all going to be very relaxed and fun, Kate is hoping the queen will drop by because the two are remarkably close. They bonded big time and really enjoy each other's company. Since this is going to be a first for royals, Kate would love the queen to be part of it," the friend explained.
