Kate Middleton Pregnant With Second Baby, Official Announcement Coming Soon, Says Childhood Friend
Kate Middleton is said to be pregnant with her second child, according to a longtime friend.
Jessica Hay, the woman who revealed Middleton's first pregnancy weeks before the Duchess's official confirmation in 2012, claims the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a second child. While there has not been any official confirmation for Buckingham Palace, Hay revealed that the royals are indeed gearing up to make an announcement.
"Kate's inner circle are buzzing with the news that she is pregnant," Hay was quoted as telling Australian magazine New Idea.
"I've heard it from several different friends of theirs now and they're saying that they think there's going to be an official announcement in weeks," she revealed.
Middleton and Prince William, both 32, will celebrate their son's first birthday on July 22. If Hay's claims of a second pregnancy are indeed true, the royal couple will have even more to celebrate.
"Kate's face is fuller like it was when she was first expecting George and she's been changing her hair, which could be to disguise the fullness," Hay, who is a childhood friend of Middleton's, said.
"She has rosy cheeks, she's letting her greys show again, and whenever she's out in public she goes to great lengths to hold something over her tummy," she went on. "With George, they were forced to tell the world very early on that Kate was pregnant because she was rushed to the hospital with that awful hyperemesis gravidarum at around six or seven weeks."
Last week reports confirmed that Middleton is set to embark on her first-ever solo royal tour in September. The Duchess will reportedly travel to Malta to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its independence on Sept. 21.
"She's really nervous but excited about stepping out by herself," a source told Us magazine.
"The trip will focus on some of the causes that connect with her beliefs and patronages," the insider said.
