'Koi wa Ameagari no You ni' Anime Latest News: New Promotional Video Teases Love, Rain, and Series' Ending Theme
New details have been released for the upcoming Japanese anime series, "Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Love Is like After the Rain)." Additionally, a key visual art featuring the series protagonist, Akira Tachibana, as well as a promotional video have also been shared online for the potential viewers' reference.
The series, which has been described as a heartrending love story, centers on 17-year-old Akira and her growing feelings for a much older man.
Akira used to be the ace of her school's track team, but an incident eventually stopped her from running. She is the kind of person who is unable to express her feelings well, and is thus often misunderstood as being cool, aloof, and quite possibly snobbish.
However, this does not keep her from working part-time at a family restaurant known simply as Garden, wherein she meets 45-year-old Masami Kondo and falls in love. Masami has been Garden's store manager for many years and is quickly overwhelmed by the attention that Akira is giving him.
The story can be expected to depict the many ways that rain can fall and affect the turns and eventual outcome of a love story, especially one that's unrequited. The recently released key visual art features Akira standing on the roof of her school and looking up at the sky, just after the rain has stopped and fluffy clouds are beginning to form once more against the backdrop of the bluest sky.
The series is based on the manga the same name written and illustrated by Jun Mayuzuki.
On the other hand, Ayumu Watanabe is all set to direct the series under the WIT STUDIO production company. Aimer sings the ending theme titled, "Ref:rain," which is featured in the newly released promotional video.
"Koi wa Ameagari no You ni" is expected to be released in January 2018 on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block, as well as in selected regions outside Japan via Amazon Prime.
