Leah Remini: Leaving Scientology 'Still Not Easy' (TRAILER VIDEO)

Actress Leah Remini has a new reality show debuting on TLC tonight, July 10, and has spoken out about her separation from Scientology and the effect it has had on her life. Nothing is easy, Remini said, and she still has pains from leaving the religious organization.

"You look through your phone [and] you're like, 'Oh I can't call this person,'" Remini said during an appearance on "Good Morning America." "But you know, as we were in that time of loss and grief, still sad we lost our friends, we also have to look at what we do have. We have great family. We have great friends still in our lives. And we should start celebrating what we have, and that's why she had the party."

Remini has spoken before at losing her friends due to Scientology's apparently inherent rule that those who leave the organization must not have any contact with current members. Her new show "Leah Remini: It's All Relative," will address some of the issues surrounding her family's decision to leave the organization but focus on her life now.

"It's something you're raised in," Remini said of Scientology's impact on her life. "You're in it, so you don't see what … what do you want to know? I have a lot of friends that ask, 'Oh, I've wanted to ask,' and I'm like, 'What do you want to know?' You're so in it that you don't really see the fascination."

"This is bringing our family even closer together," Remini added of her new show and its effect on all of them. "We get to work together every day, so I said, 'Why not?' I don't want to be so serious about every decision that I make in my career. I love entertaining people. I like making people laugh. That's what I do. I love to work. So I was like, 'Yes.' A chance to make someone laugh? Yes."

"Leah Remini: It's All Relative" airs Thursday nights on TLC.
