'Legends of Tomorrow' Spoilers: Heroes Turn Back Time to Save Ray Palmer

Next Tuesday on "Legends of Tomorrow," the team learns about Ray Palmer/Atom's (Brandon Routh) impending death, and they will rush to change the course of events.

As revealed in the synopsis of episode 4 of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 3, titled "Phone Home," the legends will find out that Palmer's death will be a consequence of their breaking time. Eager to save one of their own, they rush back to 1988 to save him.

When they reach that point in time, they discover that the young Palmer has made friends with a time-displaced baby Dominator. This strange friendship will only put him in harm's way with the government and the Dominator's mother.

As for Stein (Victor Garber), he is definitely up to something, and it is making Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Jax (Franz Drameh) on edge.

Elsewhere in the episode, Zari (Tala Ashe) is still trying to get comfortable with the team. She is still learning to trust them.

The totem-bearer was introduced in the preceding episode. Much like Maisie Richardson-Sellers' Amaya, the latest addition to the Waverider harnesses powers from the totem.

"It has lots of powers in it," Ashe said of the totem in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "The totem is something that she associates with the great power it has and also with her family. It is a kind of — I don't know if heirloom is quite the right word, but it's something that is in her family, so taking it on also entails carrying that torch for her family, which is tricky and I think she feels sort of not worthy in certain ways and maybe not even capable of carrying that amulet forward for her family."

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 3 episode 4, titled "Phone Home," airs Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
