Lenovo Tab 4 Series Release Date, Specs, Price News: Affordable Tablets Suited for Each Member of the Family

Lenovo has introduced the Tab 4 series, a new range of mainstream entertainment tablets designed for the entire family. These 8-inch and 10-inch tablets can be shared by each family member as they can be transformed to meet their different needs.

Four devices comprise the Lenovo Tab 4 series: the Tab 4 8, Tab 4 10, Tab 4 8 Plus and Tab 4 10 Plus. The latter two tablets serve as the high-performance variants of the range. They can be used as primary devices at home or as companion devices during long road trips and plane rides with up to 12 hours of battery life. The tablets also come preinstalled with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS).

The Lenovo Tab 4 8 ($109) and Lenovo Tab 4 10 ($149) feature a screen resolution of 1,200 x 800 pixels. They are powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor with 2 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and either 16 GB or 32 GB of onboard storage. The tablets come with front-facing dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos moving audio for an immersive entertainment experience. Other features include a 5-megapixel (MP) rear camera and a 2-MP front shooter.

The Lenovo Tab 4 8 and Tab 4 10 come in two colors: Slate Black and Polar White.

Meanwhile, the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus ($199) and Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus ($249) both feature a beautiful dual-glass design and are very slim at just 7.15 mm and 8.4 mm, respectively. The tablets are equipped with full high-definition (HD) displays with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. They are powered by the 64-bit octa-core 2 GHz Snapdragon 625 processor. One variant comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage while the other has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of available memory.

The Plus tablets come in two colors: Sparkling White and Aurora Black. Notable features include dual speakers with Dolby Atmos moving audio, an 8-MP rear camera, a 5-MP front shooter, a fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port and Quick Charge 3.0 capability.

Furthermore, they are offered with optional packs to transform the device into either a kid's tablet or a productivity device.

The Kid's Pack comes with a shock-resistant bumper, blue-light filter and colorful scratch-resistant stickers. The tablet will be optimized for children's use with curated and up-to-date content by KIDOZ and access to kid-friendly websites only. There are also parental controls and scheduling tools to monitor children's usage.

On the other hand, the Plus tablet can also be turned into a two-in-one workhorse via the Productivity Pack. It includes a Bluetooth keyboard, a productivity interface, a taskbar for multi-tasking and keyboard shortcuts.

The Lenovo Tab 4 series will go on sale this May.
