LG G5 Specs Rumors: May Sport 'Magic Slot' For 'Hardware Expansion'

As the year 2015 ended, rumors about the next biggest flagship devices started ramping up. Among the devices included in the rumor mill is the LG G5, which is said to be the successor of the successful LG G4. According to a report in Tech Times, the latest reported leak about the LG G5 is the inclusion of a "magic slot" which is rumored to be used for "hardware expansion."

The leak comes via Venture Beat, which not only lists the key specs of the device but also reveals the inclusion of a "magic slot" which will be used to attach hardware modules that will bring additional functions to the device. Among the functions the report listed as possible through hardware expansion include different types of cameras, a physical keyboard and even an amplifier for better audio.

The report cited that this is similar to the technology that was introduced to personal digital assistants so that they can have additional functions such as the ability to make calls, to play digital music or to provide GPS connectivity. It is also likened to the Smart Connector technology used by Apple in the iPad Pro and the Smart Keyboard.
