'Limitless' News: CBS Gives Full Season Order For New Show

"Limitless," a new crime drama television series on CBS, just received a full season order at the network after its debut episodes posted high viewership ratings. The series pilot episode was first aired on September 22 and is going on its sixth episode this week. The pilot run has a total of nine episodes but because of the full season order, it will now have 22 episodes.

According to TV Line, the first episode debuted on September 22 with a viewership of 9.9 million. Its latest episode on October 20 had a 7.9 million viewership. The series follows the story of Brian Finch, played by Jake McDorman, an aimless 28-year old musician who gets a whiff of an experimental drug called NZT-48 which gives him superior intelligence by activating every neuron in his brain. Its story is based on a movie of the same title, starred in by Bradley Cooper. Finch makes use of his special abilities by helping the FBI, as he continues to have access to the main drug and another drug that counters its side effects with the help of a powerful benefactor, U.S. Senator Eddie Morra. Morra was the main character in focus in the film.

TV Line quoted CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller who said, "We're excited how Limitless continues to evolve creatively each week and stand out with its unique style of storytelling. It's off to a strong start in a highly competitive environment."
