LPEA Holds Fifth Evangelistic Festival in Argentina
The Luis Palau Evangelistic Association (LPEA) held its fifth festival in the Argentinean province of Mendoza on Mar. 11 and 12.
Following the success of past evangelistic festivals in Argentina over the past four years, the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association (LPEA) held its fifth festival in the Argentinean province of Mendoza on Mar. 11 and 12.
According to the LPEA, more than 120,000 people had heard the Good News in Mendoza by Sunday morning, and thousands had made public commitments to Jesus Christ.
As the clouds opened up over Festival Mendoza and the rain came down, the people stood firm, as if to bathe in the blessing from head to toe, the LPEA reported. It was a poignant picture of Gods mercy, poured down for all.
The festival was also broadcasted over national radio networks as news channels carried stories of the festival and newspapers ran front-page headlines. Government officials from around the country also came to take part in the two-day event.
Christians in the city, though small in number, witnessed God's power to turn hearts toward heaven and headlines toward the Gospel, the LPEA stated.
After the governor of the province had invited the LPEA to return to Argentina for festival Mendoza, the association said it was thrilled to see God continue to open doors for us to proclaim the Good News throughout this hurting country.
According to the LPEA, tens of thousands of Argentines have committed their lives to Jesus Christ at past festivals. From Beachfest Argentina in 2004 with more than 310,000 in attendance to Buenos Aires Festival of Hope in 2003 with 1 million people, the nation is showing its hunger for hope and a new beginning.
