His father committed suicide when he was just 5-years-old leaving him to be raised by a single mother who did her best to provide for him.
Always having a background in church, Greenwood was able to stay pretty grounded because of this and the few well placed mentors in his life to get him by.

Flash forward to his teenage years when he had aspirations of being a pro skateboarder, a broken ankle changed his life and helped pushed him toward music.
Picking up the moniker, Manafest, he would head out to the hottest hip-hop clubs and performance spots in his area and just grab the microphone and let it rip. It was there that he began crafting his lyrics to reflect a relationship with Christ and speak on his personal life experiences filled with hurt, pain, and uncertainty.
From there, Manafest began recording and touring, and faced hardships as a struggling artist who was also married and needed to make ends meet to provide for him and his wife.
