Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan Fight Is '75 Percent Chance' Happening
The Manny Pacquiao-Amir Khan fight might now become a reality, since Khan believes there's a 75 percent chance of it happening.
According to AFP as reported by Yahoo! Sports, Khan confirmed that he and his team are now talking with Pacquiao, and is positive that their fight will now finally happen. The British boxer has been chasing for Pacquiao for quite some time now, and believes this time, it will happen. "I think 75 percent. I think this could happen," Khan told AFP at the AIBA World Boxing Championship in Qatar.
The WBC Silver welterweight champion also added that his management team is "taking care of everything" in order for the fight to happen, since Pacquiao's team is also negotiating between him and Floyd Mayweather.
The decision on who Pacquiao's next opponent will be is going to be announced by "November or December," and Khan hopes it will be him. Khan said that he used to train and spar together with Pacquaio before. He used to be with Freddie Roach's camp, before teaming up with Virgil Hunter.
"We are friends but sometimes, you know, friends have to fight each other," he said when asked on how he feels to fight someone from his former camp. He also said that Pacquiao is one of the world's greatest fighters, and the 28-year-old boxer said "I want to fight the best fighters."
"If it is going to happen, it's going to happen," Khan finally added.
On the other hand, according to Celeb Café's report, Pacquiao confirmed to AFP that he's considering his last fight to be with Khan or a possible rematch with Mayweather.
However, the Filipino boxer and congressman said that Mayweather might be out of the question since the American boxer will most likely decline to fight in the Middle East, which is where his management is considering his last fight will happen. Mayweather has also announced his retirement after his fight with Andre Berto, and Pacquiao believes that Mayweather will stick to his plans.
Pacquiao will also be running for senator in the Philippine Senate next year, according to Christian Today.
