Megan Fox Cast in 'Shadow Girl' with Olivia Thirlby and Alan Ritchson
Megan Fox ("Transformers") has been cast in the upcoming movie "Shadow Girl" alongside Olivia Thirlby ("The Stanford Prison Experiment") and Alan Ritchson ("The Hunger Games"). Claudia Myers ("Fort Bliss") will write and direct the film, which has been described as a magic realist story.
"Shadow Girl" will center on Holly, a woman who needs to find her way back to reality. For years, Holly worked as a paparazzi photographer and mastered the art of fading into the shadows.
In her journey back, Holly will meet a former MMA fighter who realizes it was her photo that disgraced his reputation in the sport. She will then have to help him regain his glory, which will, in turn, enable her to come back to the world she knows.
"Shadow Girl' is fundamentally about our need for connection and seeing beyond our own experience," Myers said about the film. "It's easy to get lost in a world where your sense of self is dependent on others."
It's unclear, however, if Fox will play the part of Holly. The actress has been recently seen on the set of an MMA ring as work started on "Shadow Girl."
In other news, Fox claimed she acted so self-righteous in her younger years as an actress after publicly criticizing "Transformers" director and producer Michael Bay. It resulted in Bay firing her from the franchise after two films and just as her star was rising.
"That was absolutely the low point of my career," Fox admitted in a Cosmopolitan interview, adding it taught her one of her biggest life lessons. "Once I realized I [had] brought it on myself, it was an invaluable learning experience, looking back on it."
After "Transformers," Fox made a mark in two "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" films and the comedy series "New Girl."
Meanwhile, "Shadow Girl" has no theater release schedule as of press time. The movie will also feature Jim Gaffigan ("Chappaquiddick"), Maria Dizzia ("Orange Is the New Black") and former UFC fighter Tito Ortiz.
