'Men In Black' Reboot Cast, Plot News: Producer Confirms A "Woman In Black"

The fourth entry in the hit science-fiction film franchise series "Men in Black" is now apparently in the works, and according to what the producers of "Men in Black 4" has to say, there will be a Woman in Black who will help supervise extraterrestrial lifeforms who have come to live on Earth and assume human looks. Will Will Smith still be part of the upcoming big screen offering?

The report from BBC's NewsBeat quoted the statement released by series producer Laurie MacDonald who said that "there will be a prominent woman in black in the fourth [film]," which apparently, she's currently developing with husband and co-producer Walter Parkes.

The latter went on to address the casting rumors that have been going around that say that series actor Will Smith (who plays James Darrell Edwards III/ Agent J") will not be appearing this time around. Parkes plainly said to "never count Will out" from the project.

The fact is that the franchise is still on its early stage of the development and that anything is still up on the table.

As for the story itself, the producers said that they looked at the first three "MIB" films, which Smith co-stars with Tommy Lee Jones who appeared as Agent K, as a complete trilogy.

Parkes and MacDonald admit that working closely on the series of films enabled them to gain some views on "some thematic basis" embedded underneath the trilogy.

They are now looking into reinventing the whole recipe, perhaps to better suit the taste of the new generation of viewers.

"…we are looking at a reinvention," Parkes said. Nonetheless, "it's a wonderful world to get back into," he added.

There's still no word as to when the new "Men In Black" film will come out. The latest of the franchise rolled out in 2012 and has reportedly earned $624 million in worldwide box office sales.
