Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto Welcome Identical Twin Girls Victoria and Ysabel
Michael Jordan and his new wife, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, welcomed twin girls into the world Sunday. The 50-year-old former NBA superstar and 35-year-old Prieto were married last April.
Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto welcomed identical twins Victoria and Ysabel in West Palm Beach, Fla., according to reports. Both babies are healthy and the family is happy.
"Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival," Estee Portnoy, Jordan's representative, told the Associated Press. These are the couple's first children together, but not the first children for the former Bulls star shooting guard.
Jordan has three adult children with his former wife, Juanita Vanoy, whom he divorced in December of 2006: Jeffrey Michael Jordan, 25, Marcus James Jordan, 23, and Jasmine Jordan, 21.
Jordan and Prieto first met six years ago, and she was his girlfriend up until his proposal on Christmas Eve, 2011. They were married April 27, 2013 at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
Jordan's new twin daughters aren't the only success he's seeing recently. For the first time since he took over the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010, the team has a chance to make it to the playoffs. The Bobcats are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, doing far better than their horrendous 7-59 record in 2011-2012 season, which was the worst in NBA history.
Jordan is widely recognized as one of the best basketball players of all time, winning six NBA championships, five MVP awards and numerous other scoring and defensive titles.
