Micromax Canvas Knight 2 Specs, Release Date: Introducing Indian Company's First LTE-Powered Dual-SIM Smartphone

Micromax has been doing everything to remain competitive in the Indian market, which is slowly becoming a fertile ground for Android phone makers from China.

In its attempt to compete with Samsung, other international brands, and its local rivals, the manufacturer has just launched its first smartphone that supports 4G LTE connectivity and provides dual-SIM capabilities.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Micromax has recently announced the Canvas Knight 2 smartphone, which is in the midrange category.

In the report, the device boasts some decent specs that include 5-inch AMOLED display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 615 chipset that offers 64-bit support, and an octa-core CPU.

Other specs include a 13MP primary camera with Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and 5-element lens, a 5MP front shooter and a microSD card slot.

Rounding up the features list are two microSIM slots that can both support 4G LTE connections, a Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 dedicated chipset, 2,230mAh of battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Based on the report, the device will cost INR 16,299 or about $261 beginning on June 10.

With this new weapon by Micromax that serves as the boundary of both the midrange and high-end groups, its affordable price tag is definitely a plus for Indian consumers.
