Microsoft Launches Last Xbox One Update for the Year, Twitter Integration, Background Images and More
Microsoft has launched the final update for the Xbox One this year and it features major improvements to the user interface, as well as how Xbox users will be able to show themselves to their friends and other people in the community. The update has been available since Saturday and is rolling out to user's Xbox consoles.
The update includes Twitter integration as well as the option to choose custom backgrounds for player's profiles. The background images can be chosen from either a JPEG or PNG file format. Theme art for the achievements can also be used as a background.
Along with the changes to a gamer's profile background, an option to add a short bio and a location is now available. Gamers will now also be able to utilize a feature called "showcase" where users will be able to share their favorite Xbox One game clips. Twitter integration has also made it possible to share these clips with followers.
The Xbox One Store has also been improved for quicker browsing and finding of content. Navigation buttons have been moved to the far left and recommendations are now more prominantly displayed. Store categories have also been standardized so that gamers can find certain items easily.
Gamers can now also see a list of friends who have played a specific game with the help of the Xbox One SmartGlass. Games with Gold and Deals can also now be browse from one's mobile device, as well as initiate the download on the Xbox One console.
