Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Hits UK Market, WP 8.1 Phablet Boasts 5.7" HD Display, 13MP Shooter, Snapdragon 400 SoC
For Microsoft and Windows Phone fans in the U.K., the latest midranger from the Redmond giant has recently been made available.
In a report by GSM Arena, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is now available to purchase from the manufacturer's online store.
Announced several weeks ago, the Windows Phone 8.1-powered device has been in pre-order status since March, and finally it can be purchased online.
A bigger sibling to the Lumia 640 that launched earlier this year, the Lumia 640 XL boasts a 5.7-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution.
The handset runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory, and a microSD card slot. The device also has Adreno 302 for decent graphics performance.
The camera department is composed of a 13MP primary camera at the back, and a 5MP shooter in front.
Rounding up the specs sheet is a massive 3,000mAh battery, and Windows Phone 8.1 Lumia Denim update. In the report, the device will be updated to Windows 10 when the new multi-platform OS gets released.
In the report, the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL costs £209.
Since acquiring Nokia last year, Microsoft has been doing everything to keep its Windows handsets afloat. Unfortunately, in spite absorbing Nokia's mobile division and launching a variety of system and performance updates, Windows Phone OS still hasn't improved in its sales compared to Android and iOS.
