Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs iPad Pro vs Pixel C: Hybrid Tablets Do Battle
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has been pitted against the Apple iPad Pro in the search for the best hybrid tablet, but now the Google Pixel C has entered the scene to give consumers even more options.
The Surface Pro is a powerful yet lightweight device, but the Apple also has its own version of a 2-in-1 device in the form of the massive iPad Pro that comes with the Apple Pencil. Just when the battle between the two hybrid tablets are heating up, Google launched the Pixel C tablet in the United States and the United Kingdom, according to the International Business Times.
In terms of design and display, the iPad Pro takes home the bacon for the biggest screen, which measures 12.9 inches and boasts of a 2732 x 2048 pixel resolution. It measures 12 x 8.68 x 0.27 inches and weighs 1.57 pounds. This device runs on the Apple A9X processor with 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB to 128 GB of storage, plus it is fitted with four speakers, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.2-megapixel front camera, First Post reports.
The Surface Pro has a 12.3-inch display with a 2736 x 1824 pixel resolution. It measures 11.5 x 7.93 x 0.33 inches and weighs 1.73 pounds. Microsoft's latest hybrid tablet runs on either the Intel Core m3 with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory, or the Intel i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory. In addition, it comes with a detachable TypeCover and uses the powerful Windows 10 operating system. The device also sports an 8-megapixel rear snapper with 1080p video recording features and a 5-megapixel front snapper.
The metallic Pixel C has a 10.2-inch screen with a 2560 x 1800 pixel resolution, and runs on the Nvidia Tegra X1 processor with 3 GB or RAM and either 32 GB or 64 GB of storage. It comes with a detachable Bluetooth keyboard that can be bought separately for $149 and can be rotated by 135-degree or snapped behind the tablet when not in use. The device is also equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.
When it comes to price, the iPad Pro will require consumers to cough up $799 to $949, depending on the storage option, and another $99 for the Apple Pencil. The Surface Pro 4 costs between $899 and $2,699, but the Surface TypeCover is priced between $140 and $160. The Pixel C, on the other hand, carries a price tag of $499 to $599, plus an additional $149 for the Bluetooth keyboard.
