Mortal Kombat X Could Get 40 Characters in Roster, Up To 16 DLC Characters
NetherRealm Studio's upcoming Mortal Kombat title, "Mortal Kombat X" has now been scheduled for a release on April 14, 2015. The game is initially being developed for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and the Windows PC, with a Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 ports to be expected by another developer.
While awaiting the game's release, the developers have been revealing characters included in the roster one-by-one. The most recent reveal is the character Quan Chi, making 10 characters in total. There are currently only four new characters debuting in the game.
There have not been much news about the game lately and character reveals are not from the developers themselves but with character reveals slowly trickling one by one, it is clear that the developers would want to carefully pick who will return to the roster after claims that not all fighters will make the return.
There are only 24 slots available in the roster, not including those who will only be playable as DLC. Goro is the first fighter to be revealed as a DLC character and he is obtainable via pre-ordering the game.
Considering that DLC characters aren't included in the regular roster, there could be the likelihood that the game will come with 40 characters – 24 base characters included in the game as default and as much as 16 DLC characters.
There are already nine base characters, excluding Goro being a DLC character which leaves 15 more slots to be filled before the game is actually released.
