Mortal Kombat X New Trailer Features Return of Reptile

Last Tuesday, Warner Bros. and developer NetherRealms Studios announced that Reptile has joined the roster for the much anticipated fighting game, Mortal Kombat X.

In the trailer, Reptile appears to have gotten a makeover as he now has a new look and new moves. The trailer shows Reptile battling Kung Lao, and the character looks more savage as he sports an armor made of bones and his skin looks coarse and even more reptilian.

Reptile still uses his venom in battle to fight his opponents. He can spray it in a wide arc or spit it directly at his opponent. His stealth ability is still there, and he is able to turn completely transparent, which is an advantage since all his opponent will see is slight distortions on the screen when he moves.

The trailer starts with Kung Lao telling Reptile, "I have no quarrel with you."

"I will tear your flesh!" hisses Reptile.

"I now have a quarrel with you!" counters Kung Lao.

They fight on a wooden bridge over a raging sea. Reptile uses his stealth for an X-ray attack. He takes a hold of Kung Lao's head and snaps his jaw. Then he pokes out both of Kung Lao's eyes. Reptile sprays venom over Kung Lao's face, which begins to melt right away.

Aside from Reptile and Kung Lao, more classic characters will be returning in Mortal Kombat X. It has been previously reported that Kitana, Raiden and Kano will be joined by newcomers such as Cassie Cage.

Aside from Reptile, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon teased that another fighter will be announced on Thursday. On his Twitter account, Boon wrote, "Don't forget…Thursday, Jan. 29. Twitch stream. Another Mortal Kombat X character reveal and game play demonstration!"

The game launches on April 14 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
