Motorola Moto X 2015 Specs, Rumors, Release Date: 3rd Generation Handset Will Allegedly Boast QHD Display, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 808 SoC
Now that HTC, Samsung, Sony and LG have all announced their flagships for this year, it is now time for Motorola to make its move and not get left behind.
Last year, the Lenovo-owned manufacturer unveiled its Moto X 2014 in September, just when Apple and Samsung were about to announce their high-end devices.
As a result, most people did not pay attention to the Moto X 2014, and instead saved up for either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, or the Galaxy Note 4.
However, this time around, rumors surrounding the Moto X 2015 edition came a few months early.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the new Moto X's specs have allegedly been leaked.
The leak came from STJS Gadgets Portal, which reveals most of the basic specs of the Motorola handset.
Based on the leak, the next-generation Moto X 2015 will boast a QHD (2560 x 1440) screen, same as the Motorola Droid Turbo, which was the top Android handset from the manufacturer last year.
In the report, the Moto X will allegedly run on the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset, a whopping 4GB of RAM and an option for either a 32GB or 64GB built-in memory.
Other specs include a 16MP primary camera, a 5MP front shooter, a 3,280mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
While there are no rumors yet regarding a release date, it may not be long. Motorola would not want other brands to build too much momentum in selling their respective flagships.
