Naya Rivera Fired From 'Glee' After Lea Michele Feud? Actress Tweets About Show
Naya Rivera has reportedly been axed from "Glee" following reports of a feud with her co-star Lea Michele.
On Tuesday reports claimed Rivera, who plays Santana Lopez on the hit Fox series, had been "written out" of the season 5 finale after an alleged fight with producers. In recent weeks the actress and Michele, both 27, reportedly clashed on set and while neither confirmed feud rumors, Rivera has since been let go, according to the New York Daily News.
Rivera, who joined the musical series in 2009, appeared unfazed by axing reports shortly after news of her departure broke and bizarrely took to Twitter to tweet her excitement about the show.
"SO excited to watch Glee tonight! #doowop #shirleymaclaine #fancy," Rivera tweeted to her 1 million followers.
Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the show, also did not mention reports of Rivera's alleged firing on Twitter. Instead, the actress tweeted about enjoying her day "on set."
"On the #Glee set today singing my all time favorite song "Glitter In The Air" by Pink.. Thank you @BFalchuk for letting me sing it," Michele tweeted to her 4 million followers.
On April 15 Rivera and Michele, whose characters coincidentally also clash on-screen, were embroiled in a dispute due to Michele's alleged "diva" antics.
Insiders claim that while filming the "Cannonball" singer stalled production by constantly taking breaks to deal with personal matters which prompted Rivera to complain to producers. Rivera reportedly expressed frustration regarding Michele's "difficult" behavior which did not go down well, according to TMZ.com.
Some sources claim that upon learning about Rivera's complaint to producers, Michele stormed off set, however, others maintain that it was actually Rivera who left in a state of fury.
"They're always icy to each other ... Naya is jealous that Lea is the show's main star … There is a lot of sighing and eye-rolling between them," a source told Us magazine with another adding "They talk behind each other's backs -- a lot."
Fans took to Twitter to express support for Rivera shortly after news of her alleged axing surfaced and the hashtag #NoNayaNoGlee began trending.
