NBA All-Star Weekend 2016 Taco Bell Skills Challenge Update: Live Stream, Start Time Details
Top players showcase their skills.
With all the stars of the National Basketball Association converging in Toronto, Canada for the first time in its history, the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night begins with the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
The event on that evening starts at 8:30 PM ET and it kicks off with the best ball handlers competing to be the champion this year.
Eight of the league's most skilled players will take part in the event which will put their complete skills to the test.
Patrick Beverley of the Houston Rockets was last year's winner but he will not be part of the event to defend his title because of an injury. But eight other worthy combatants will try and win the weekend's first major prize.
And with a little twist, the contest will not only be comprised of guards but big men are also going to take part in the event to make it even more entertaining.
One of the biggest names in the pool will be DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings.
Nicknamed "Boogie," he is one of the best players in the league today and his inclusion has put the spotlight on just how good he is. His dominant play in the paint is complemented by his excellent handles and passing which makes him a very interesting option in the Skills Challenge.
Another big man is Golden State Warriors' big man Draymond Green. The power forward has made his name as one of the main reasons why the Warriors are enjoying their current run, with Green racking up the stats in points, rebounds and assists.
Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans is a complete player and is easily called the future of the league as he can do everything on the court. He can score, rebound, shoot from the outside and he is one of the best defenders in the league as well.
CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers is most known for his excellent shooting but the two-guard can also do damage when he puts the ball on the floor. He has been an excellent partner to Damian Lillard and is one of the dark horses of the competition.
Rookie Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves is busy this weekend as he is also part of the Rising Stars competition. The top pick can shoot, rebound and play defense but his ball-handling skills are very underrated.
Replacing Beverley will be Emmanuel Mudiay of the Denver Nuggets. He is also part of the Rising Star Challenge, playing for the World team.
Easily one of the most improved players this season, the Boston Celtics' Isaiah Thomas is part of the All-Star team and will also try his luck in the Skills Challenge. He has the scoring ability and has all the skills an elite point guard has.
Finally, the Los Angeles Lakers' Jordan Clarkson is a very exciting player who can be the future of the franchise if he continues his rise. He may be raw and may have a lot of things to improve on, but his raw talent can be seen and it can be displayed in the Skills Challenge.
