NBA Live Mobile Gameplay and Updates 2016 for Android and iOS: Trey Burke Leads New 'Campus Heroes' Ratings; Complete List of Collectibles
Since its official launch, the NBA Live Mobile app for Android and iOS had been a phenomenon among basketball fans around the world.
Over the past months, it had never failed to come up with new features, players and player programs to give users new options to gun for. The latest of which is the introduction of the new Campus Heroes program, which focuses on players who gave impressive performances in their college basketball teams before entering the pro league.
The list includes 15 improved players, including Trey Burke, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jerian Grant.
The mobile basketball craze
Just 6 hours after it went live, NBALM was already the most downloaded app on both Google Play and the App Store. The app is free-to-play, save for some in-app purchases that are not really necessary to progress through the game. Thus, it can surpass the popularity of the NBA 2K mobile game, a premium app that costs $8 to download.
The principle of the game is simple. It features elements from the NBA Live console game, enabling users to use their favorite teams and stars in a 14-game season. The clincher, however, is its Ultimate Team concept, wherein users can bolster the NBA team of their choice with a variety of hardcourt stars.
Players from the base set are presented in five cards, each assigned to different lineups with varying stat boosts. These include Shooting, Big Man, Two-Way, Small Ball and Defensive. They are put in a hierarchy of ratings—Bronze, Silver, Gold and Elite—and can be "pulled" from purchase card packs or bought from/sold at the auction house.
Programs and sets allow users to get higher-rated versions of their favorite players, including the coveted 93-rated NBA Supremacy LeBron James, the 92 Juggernaut Shaquille O'Neal and the 95 NBA Master Russell Westbrook. Legends and Throwback versions of players are also available.
The land before NBA
The Campus Heroes program comes with a new weekly live event, where users can "grind" for chances at a Campus Heroes player or collectible, which can be used to complete sets and get either a Gold or Elite player.
