NBA Rumors 2016: Nick Young Mending Ties with Iggy Azalea, D'Angelo Russell; No Longer Wants Chris Brown to Move
Nick Young is no stranger to the bright lights of Hollywood. He headed to the Los Angeles Lakers off a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, laying down roots in California's most famous city.
Much to his team's dismay, however, Young had been known more for his celebrity antics rather than exceptional play. His recent fiasco with ex-fiancee Iggy Azalea, even involving teammate D'Angelo Russell, had created a lot of buzz not just in the NBA, but on gossip sites as well.
The latest update on this issue is good news—Young and Azalea could be mending ties severed by controversy.
Possible reunion?
Swaggy P and Azalea famously broke up after a video of him admitting he cheated on his fiancee went viral. The culprit? His Lakers teammate and potential franchise superstar D'Angelo Russell.
The rookie became close to Young, to the point of having a prank battle against him. However, the video got out of Russell's phone, and Azalea even supported the rising point guard by thanking him for his "film." Their relationship was subsequently ruined, and the two players' locker room ties soured as well.
However, recent rumors suggest that there may be a chance for Young and Azalea to fix their issues. An insider source reported that Azalea appreciates Young's apologies, with the latter making efforts to strengthen their relationship once again. The former couple looks to be back to "a good place."
Prior to this, Azalea was rumored to be dating fellow rapper French Montana,.Young even wished she would marry the hiphop artist.
New controversy
Young has yet to get himself out of controversy, though. The streaky shooter shot a frustrated remark at neighbor Chris Brown, telling him he has to move.
Late in August, Brown's house was surrounded by police following a woman's 911 call, accusing him of pointing a gun at her. Swaggy P then uploaded a video of him telling Brown to get away from the neighborhood. However, Young eventually cooled down, saying Brown is an icon and people need him on a pedestal.
As for the Russell issue, Young seemed to have put the bad blood behind him. He recently defended Russell when the latter was heckled at a concert. Young said Russell was "good" with him when interviewed by TMZ. He had previously said he can't stay mad at his fellow Laker forever.
