NBA Trade Rumors 2016: Cavs GM Declares Kevin Love Unavailable For Trade; Hawks Looking To Release Jeff Teague?
Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin recently squashed news about the possible trade of big man Kevin Love.
Speaking to ESPN and as reported by NESN.com, Griffin clarified that they currently have no intention of letting go of their 27-year-old player.
"You'd have to go a long way to convince me that we're a better team winning in the Finals without a player like Kevin on our team," Griffin said, according to the report. "We've never once put together an offer involving Kevin, nor have we taken a call on an offer for Kevin."
At the same time, however, Griffin also says that there is no guarantee that Love will not be released eventually, pointing out their agreement about having "no such thing as untouchables".
For the current season, Love has played in 46 games so far and is averaging 16.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.9 steals, through 32.4 minutes of playing time per game, on 42.4% field goal shooting.
The report has pointed out that Love had been struggling this month, where his numbers had dropped to just 12.8 points per game on 38.4% field goal shooting in the thirteen games that he had played at the time the report was written.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks are considering the release of veteran point guard Jeff Teague.
According to a report by Yaron Weitzman for SBNation, various reports from journalists such as Yahoo! Sports' Chris Mannix and Adrian Wojnarowski, as well as ESPN's Zach Lowe have all pointed out that the reason behind the team's decision is the lack of chemistry between Teague and teammate Dennis Schroder.
Teague, who was a first round pick at the 2009 NBA Draft by the Hawks, has played in 45 games so far and is averaging 14.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.3 steals, through 28.5 minutes of playing time per game.
Schroder, on the other hand, has played in 46 games and is currently averaging 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.0 steals through 21.2 minutes of playing time per game.
