NBA Trade Rumors 2016: As David Lee Heads To Toronto, Is Timofey Mozgov Going To Be Traded By Cavs?

Boston Celtics big man David Lee is reportedly headed for Toronto, while the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to trade big man Timofey Mozgov.

With the February 18 trade deadline fast approaching, teams have begun shuffling their rosters to accommodate any necessary changes.

In a report by Jeff Clark for SB Nation's Celtics Blog, the Raptors are said to be the next team that could be the potential new home for the 32-year-old Lee.

However, Clark's report adds that Lee's $15.4 million contract could be the impediment for the said deal.

"However, making the cap math work would be complicated unless a third team that's willing to take on one of Toronto's longer deals gets involved," an excerpt of the report reads.

The Celtics signed Lee in July of 2015, in exchange for small forward Gerald Wallace and shooting guard Chris Babb. Prior to his stint in Beantown, Lee played five years for the Golden State Warriors. In this season, so far, Lee has played 30 games and is currently averaging 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.4 blocks and 0.4 steals, through 15.7 minutes of playing time per game.

The Celtics currently hold a win-loss slate of 24-21 and will be playing against the Washington Wizards on Monday, January 25, at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Timofey Mozgov is rumored to have been placed on the trading block, just a year after he was signed.

In a report by NESN.com, it was Mozgov's "inability to defend smaller lineups" that is believed to be one of the main issues that the Cavaliers have with him. One specific instance that was stated was during the Cavs' January 18 game against the Golden State Warriors, wherein Mozgov was not able to contain opposing center Draymond Green.

The Cavaliers lost with a score of 132-98, in what was described as "LeBron James' worst ever loss in Cleveland."

The 29-year-old Mozgov is currently averaging 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 0.4 steals, through 17.9 minutes of playing time per game.
