NBA Trade Rumors: Pistons' Brandon Jennings Going To Brooklyn; Rockets Asking Price For Dwight Howard Too Much?

The Detroit Pistons are rumored to be sending point guard Brandon Jennings to the trading block.

In a report by Nick Borges for ESPN.com, the Pistons are looking to send the 26-year-old professional basketball player to the Brooklyn Nets, in exchange for 27-year old forward Thaddeus Young.

The report adds that Jennings becomes a free agent by July 1st, while Young is signed with the Nets until the 2017-2018 NBA regular season. However, his contract may be extended until the following season, should he choose to exercise his player option.

While the rumors seem to be a hot topic, Pistons head coach and president for basketball operations Stan Van Gundy spoke about the buzz surrounding his player. In an interview with MLive.com, Van Gundy simply shrugged off the rumors.

"I read some stuff. I don't read everything," Van Gundy said. "I don't really read much of what you write about us, but I read all the rumor stuff nationally. Not everyday -- I don't have time -- but I'll go on and I'll look. It's always funny."

Jennings was a first round pick (10th overall) of the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2009 NBA Draft, a team he played for until 2013. He was then traded to the Pistons in July, in exchange for Khris Middleton, Viacheslav Kravstov, and Brandon Knight.

For the current season alone, Jennings has played in a total of 21 games and is averaging 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.5 steals, through 17.5 minutes of playing time per game.

Meanwhile, The Houston Rockets are reportedly "asking for too much" from other teams who are interested in acquiring the services of their big man Dwight Howard.

In a report by Jack Windham for the Inquisitr, many general managers of different teams believe that the Rockets are in a "tricky situation" involving Howard, as they know that Houston's team management is not willing to overpay the 30-year-old player.

For his part, Howard has shut down all trade rumors involving him and declared that he will be staying with the Houston Rockets.
