NBA Trade Rumors: Sixers Reportedly Put Out Handsome Offer For Dennis Schroder; Clippers Turn Down Wilcox-Snell Deal
The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly put out a handsome offer for Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder.
According to a report by Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, sources said the Sixers offered shooting guard Nik Stauskas and point guard Ish Smith, as well as a player with an expiring contract and a 2016 first round draft pick, in exchange for Schroder.
Pompey's report adds that the player with an expiring contract was Denver Nuggets small forward JaKarr Sampson.
In another report by Brad Rowland for SBNation.com's Peachtree Hoops, the said draft pick would either come from the Los Angeles Lakers, the Miami Heat, or the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"Still, the 22-year-old Schröder is arguably Atlanta's best young asset, and the Hawks electing to a balk at a deal of this nature could lean toward the team valuing him at a very high level," an excerpt of Rowland's report reads.
Schroder was a first round pick (17th overall) by the Atlanta Hawks during the 2013 NBA Draft. For the current season alone, he has played in a total of 56 games so far and is averaging 11.2 points, 4.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.9 steals, through 21.0 minutes of playing time per game.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers turned down a multi-player deal involving Chicago Bulls wingman Tony Snell and its shooting guard CJ Wilcox.
In a report by Dan Woike for the Orange County Register, the Clippers did receive a number of inquiries about Wilcox, but turned down the deal with the Bulls involving Snell and a second-round draft pick.
In another report by Lucas Hann for SBNation.com's Clips Nation, the Clippers were originally targeting Memphis Grizzlies small forward Lance Stephenson and a first round draft pick, in exchange for their forward Jeff Green.
For the current season, Snell has played in 54 games, and is averaging 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.9 assists, through 20.5 minutes of playing time per game.
Wilcox, on the other hand, has played in 12 games and is averaging 1.6 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists, through 4.1 minutes of playing time per game.
