Up to two thousand women from all denominations across Nepal will join together May 21-23 at the Womens Conference, sponsored by New Directions International and hosted by a Christian womens society in Nepal.
This event will be a historical milestone in our ministry, said an NDI partner and pastor of the large church sponsoring the event in central Nepal. We hope to reach thousands of women in Nepal, to equip, encourage and empower them for wider use of their skills and talents for God's work.
According to NDI, life is hard in Nepal - especially for women. As in many countries around the world, far fewer females receive an education in comparison to that of males. As a result, many of lifes daily burdens are cast upon the women.
Mothers Day is a joyful occasion in America where we honor all the women who have made our lives special, but there are many women in Nepal who do not receive the honor they deserve, stated the Graham, North Carolina-based global missions and relief organization.
NDI reports that the upcoming conference will give thousands of women an opportunity to lift up their burdens to God, and to strengthen their Christian leadership skills at the same time.
Let us join our heads, hearts and hands together in prayer for this upcoming event in May, said the NDI partner.
A unique and diverse ministry with nearly four decades of service, NDI has actively connected individuals and churches with the work of missions by linking strategic international leaders with the means to advance the Kingdom in Third-World countries.
Begun as a cross-cultural musical ministry in a U.S. town torn by racial tension in the 1960s, NDI now plants churches and mentors indigenous church leaders in other nations.
Last month the ministry was selected as the fourth ministry profiled by Wall Watchers as a Shining Light of the Gospel on its "watchdog" website.
