New 'Dancing With the Stars' Couple Alert! Alek Skarlatos and Emma Slater Hit It Off During the Partner Switch-Up Week

During last Monday's performance, fans could not help but notice the chemistry between the switched-up couple, Alek Skarlatos and Emma Slater.

The new couple danced the Rumba to James Bay's "Let It Go," and made the viewers wanting for more from the duo.

According to Inquistr, Skarlatos and Slater did not hide their attraction to each other, and their mutual crushes was definitely in "full force" last Monday. The two were even teased by "Dancing With the Stars" co-host Erin Andrews to go on a date. The two "Dancing With the Stars" performers seem to agree with the idea of going out, according to Glamour, where Slater jokingly said that the magazine should shoulder the bill if they indeed dine out.

E! Online caught up with Skarlatos after Monday night's performance, and the 23-year-old soldier was blushing when asked about his performance with Slater. "It was a blast, obviously, in case you couldn't tell," the Legion of Honour recipient said.

Slater also agreed that their routine was a blast. "I had the best time," she added. Both Skarlatos and Slater will be back with their original partners, Lindsay Arnold and Hayes Grier, respectively, on the next episode.

Other contestants who had "romances" while competing in the reality competition are Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The only successful couple who stayed together in real life are Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson.

Some fans are skeptical when "showmances" happen, since some stars use this tactic to gain more public votes on "Dancing With the Stars." However, Inquistr agrees to some fans that the budding relationship between Skarlatos and Slater seems "genuine and sincere." While it may be too soon to tell if the two's relationship will continue on after the competition, fans still hope it will.

"Dancing With the Stars" airs every Monday on ABC.
