New 'Pitch Perfect 3' Trailer Shows the Bellas Struggling to Bring Back Their Former Glory
"Pitch Perfect 3" releases its second trailer ahead of Christmas return.
Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and the rest of the Bellas are back at it again for the third time as a new trailer for the upcoming "Pitch Perfect 3" was released on Monday. In the trailer, the Bellas have now graduated college and are struggling with their regular lives which is in contrast to the expectations they had pre-graduation. They are invited by Hailee Steinfeld's character, Emily, who now happens to lead the Barden Bellas, to one of their shows but were surprised to find out that they were only invited to watch and not sing.
Tired of the mediocrity of their lives, the Bellas set on a journey to bring back their former glory and self-esteem, getting the all-female a cappella group together for one last performance at a USO tour which will culminate in Spain. The group then joins three other bands for the tour. Complications further arise when Anna Kendrick's Beca is given a tough choice that will surely impact not only her future but the Bellas as well.
"Pitch Perfect 3" has been announced as the last of the film series which first began in 2012 as a surprise hit and was directed by Jason Moore. The success of "Pitch Perfect" eventually led to a sequel titled "Pitch Perfect 2," which was directed by Elizabeth Banks who also stars in the film. After emulating Moore's success, Banks decided not to partake in the third installment as director, only returning in an acting role.
Aside from Kendrick, Wilson, Steinfeld, and Banks, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp and Anna Camp are also set to return while the male lead of the first two films, Skylar Astin (who married Camp in 2016), won't be returning for the third installment. New faces include Ruby Rose, Matt Lanter and Guy Burnet.
Directed by "Step Up All In's" Trish Sie, "Pitch Perfect 3" will arrive in cinemas on Dec. 22.
