Nexus 6 Looks to Be an October Release Alongside Nexus 9 Tablet and Android L
October looks to be just as exciting as September when it comes to the release of smartphones as Google is set to release their next flagship phone, the Nexus 6. The release is speculated to be sometime this October and there are also reports that the flagship won't be called Nexus 6 but either the Nexus X or the Nexus 5 2014.
Nexus 6 has been codenamed "Shamu" as rumors have been referring and it looks like Motorola is indeed manufacturing it. With that, it comes to no surprise that the Nexus 6 does indeed look a little like the second-generation Moto X, which the company just recently released.
Specs which will be put into the phone is to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The chipset is most likely a 64-bit chip which would mean that the Nexus 6 would come with Android L.
Screen size is still unknown for the Nexus 6 but there are rumors that it would be coming in 5.2-inches and 5.5-inches, mimicking Apple's two size scheme with the iPhone 6.
The flagship smartphone's release is speculated to be alongside Google's Nexus 9 tablet and the Android L mobile OS. The Nexus 9 is made by HTC and will be equipped with a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC chipset, further supporting the release of the Android L – which will be given the dessert name Lemon Meringue Pie, not Lollipop as previously thought.
