NFL Trade Rumors 2016: Where Should Matt Forte Go?

Running back Matt Forte will be one of the biggest names in free agency once it officially opens in a month. The former Chicago Bears veteran recently announced via Instagram that he no longer will be part of the team after learning that they are not offering him a contract for 2016. Washington Redskins – This team does not expect to sign Alfred Morris, who in turn is looking to test the waters for bigger fish. So with him gone, the Redskins are more likely going to search for another running back and Forte may be the best one available. General Manager Scot McCloughan is known to prefer veterans over prospects because of their leadership in the field, and that could very well be the determining factor for Forte to hop in.

Houston Texans – Arian Foster is a great player, but his injury woes might be a good enough reason for the Texans to look for another option. If there's no progress on his Achilles injury recovery, Forte can be an intriguing replacement. After all, Forte is just a year older than Foster.

Indianapolis Colts – The difference between Frank Gore and Forte is that the former is a lot more versatile. And by the way, Gore is 33, and that kind of age for an NFL running back is old. Well, the veteran Gore is actually still under contract, which means it is pretty difficult to add another running back.
