Nick Jonas in 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' Announcement
Nick Jonas took to his Twitter account on Wednesday to announce that he will be the latest entertainer to star in the Broadway play “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
"It's official. I'm coming back to Broadway," Jonas tweeted. "So excited & honored to play the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying next year!"
The 18-year-old, who is best known for performing in a boy band with his brothers and being publicly abstinent, has said he is “thrilled, honored, humbled and blessed,” to take part in the production, according to Broadway.com.
The role will be the first time Jonas plays an adult in a production, in which he will be a window washer on his way to being involved in the corporate world.
The Broadway bound Jonas brother said he is excited about the music in the musical. He admitted that he had listened to much of it before receiving news that he had landed the leading role in the play.
“The music is absolutely incredible,” Jonas said, according to Broadway.com. “‘I Believe in You’ is a song that as a vocalist I can’t wait to sing.”
The brother made sure to let his fans know that although he is taking on a project without his brothers, they are still supporting one another.
"The three of us are so thrilled to support each other in our individual projects knowing we'll come back together again one day," Jonas told a fan via Twitter on Wednesday.
Before Jonas settles into the role of Finch, a few other well-known entertainers will hold the position down. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will play Finch until January 1 and Darren Criss of Glee will take over on January 3 for three weeks.
Jonas' run in the show will last from January 24 to July 1.
