Nike Air Max Day 2017 Release Date News: Sneaker Collection Unveiled, Highly Anticipated VaporMax Arriving on March 26
Air Max has become an iconic line for Nike and despite first being introduced in 1987, the sneaker range still continues to evolve. In anticipation of the model's 30th anniversary on March 26, Nike will be releasing new sneakers throughout the month and the culmination of Air Max Day 2017 will be with the release of the highly anticipated Air VaporMax.
Sneakerheads can look forward to the release of the Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit Infrared ($160) on March 2 at 10 a.m. EST. It has a vibrant red color and comes with two new features: a Flyknit upper for increased flexibility and a cored-out midsole to make it lighter and more comfortable.
Meanwhile, the Women's Air Max Jewell in Max Shine ($100) will be made available on March 8 at 10 a.m. EST. It is inspired by the Air Max Plus and will be the second model that will be made exclusive for women only.
The Nike Air Max Day 2017 collection also includes the Air Max 1 Anniversary, based on the original model released 30 years ago, with the now-iconic visible Nike Air cushioning. The Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant, on the other hand, features Nike's staple motif with color blocking and a jade-colored Swoosh. Created by Japanese retailer Atmos, it was the winner of the Air Max Day 2016 Vote Back campaign.
Meanwhile, the Air Max 1 Master features various materials seen in some of the most popular Air Max models in the line's history. With red toe tips, a Safari print and other materials on the upper, this pair will be able to fulfill many grails.
The collection also includes the Air Max LD-Zero Wolf Grey, created by Hiroshi Fujiwara for Air Max Day 2016, with a clean, retro style paired with modern comfort; and the Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 Elevated Icon, said to be the most innovative and lightest model thanks to cored-out ultra-tooling. It also has "3.26" on the tongue to celebrate the line's upcoming anniversary.
Last but not the least, the Nike Air VaporMax Platinum ($190) will be available to purchase on March 26 at 10 a.m. EDT. This next-generation Air sneaker features a flexible Flyknit upper with a radically reinvented Air cushioning system.
