Obama's Right-Hand Man Reggie Love Speaks Out

Reggie Love, the man who held the lucrative position of personal assistant of U.S. President Barack Obama, has come out to speak about his experience as the “Body Man” of the 44th president of the United States.

Love served under Obama for four years and his official title was Special Assistant to the President. The White House announced on Nov. 10 that Love would be moving on from his post.

Love’s job for several years has been to anticipate any and all of Obama’s needs. He often worked for 18 hours per day and carried around a bag full of items that the President could need at a moments notice, such as floss and Sudafed.

Love’s duties also included playing basketball with the president and the two have traveled almost 1 million miles together during his post.

Love told ESPN that after the several years and the many hours he spent working by Obama’s side that the president is “like a big brother to me.”

Obama is known as a notoriously private man but Love told ABC News that Obama even flossed his teeth in front of him and said, “I think the fact that he was comfortable with me is probably a product of, you know, he’s beaten down. I’ve been around for so long.”

Love played basketball for Duke University and got a job on Capital Hill shortly after he graduated from the esteemed school.

He was hired on to be Obama’s personal aide beginning in 2008 during Obama’s presidential campaign.

“His ability to juggle so many responsibilities with so little sleep has been an inspiration to watch,” Obama said in a statement about Love.

Love is leaving his post to continue pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

He is currently enrolled part time in the school but says that he will be focusing more time on his studies, spending time with his family, and enjoying life.
