Oklahoma Thunder Trade News: Courtney Lee Rumored To Be Signed; Kevin Durant Hints At Possibly Choosing The New York Knicks

Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Courtney Lee is rumored to be headed for Oklahoma.

According to a report by Michael Deasis for Youth Health Mag, the 30-year-old professional basketball player and NBA veteran is seen to likely suit up for the Thunder, mainly because he is believed to be a viable addition to the tandem of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Deasis' report quoted another story by ESPN's Marc Stein, which was released on Friday.

"The Thunder's biggest need is a 3-and-D wing to complement Durant and Russell Westbrook and, as I explained earlier this month, Lee is the best player of the ilk likely to be available before the trade deadline," an excerpt of Stein's report reads.

Lee's impressive performance in the college ranks when he played for Western Kentucky University made him a first round pick at the 2008 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the Orlando Magic.

Since then, he has moved to three different teams, namely the New Jersey Nets, the Houston Rockets, and the Boston Celtics, before the Grizzlies signed him in 2014. For the current season, Lee has played in 47 games so far and is putting up 10.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals, through 29.5 minutes of playing time per game.

But while a new name is reported to be a potential addition for the team, constant news swirling around superstar Kevin Durant's departure have continued to be on the rise.

As of late, the 27-year-old professional basketball player has been linked to various teams, particularly the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards. The former sees him as a good mixture with Carmelo Anthony and rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis, while Washington, which is Durant's home state, is also willing to take him in.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Durant showed some signs of nostalgia when he reminisced about his days playing basketball in The Big Apple, which in turn created some buzz that it's where he may be headed to.

"Everything reverts back to being in the Garden, whether [it's] musicians, basketball players," Durant said. "To play here is just a blessing.''
