'Once Upon a Time' Season 4 Spoilers: 'Frozen' Plot Revealed

"Once Upon a Time" has taken on the challenge of brining "Frozen" to life, and the show's writers have spoken about how they plan to do that and what might be in store for the residents of Storybrooke.

"We would never want to re-do the movie," Adam Horowitz told Entertainment Weekly. "But we want this to feel like a part of [the movie] and feel a part of our show. We want it to walk that line of being part of the 'Once Upon a Time' universe, but also feel like part of the 'Frozen' world."

It's already been revealed that Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff will be appearing in Storybrooke, and fans were hoping that Olaf the snowman would also be joining them, but there was just no storyline for him, according to Horowitz.

"It wouldn't fit, and it's so beautiful, his story in the movie. The story we want to tell doesn't involve trying to expand upon that, nor do we think it should," Horowitz explained. But there may possibly be a reindeer named Sven, who was Kristoff's constant companion.

"Frozen" characters will not remain on the "Once" series past their story arc. The storyline's length has not been discussed or revealed just yet, but the writers are excited about what could happen during the arc.

"It's similar to the way we did Neverland last year, and the Wicked Witch arc," Edward Kitsis said. "What we love about Elsa is that she is uncomfortable with her power – she's lonely – but wasn't quite sure how to break that loneliness. It took the love of her sister. So we're not interested in Elsa meeting someone, we're interested in exploring her as a person, like we have with Regina the past few years."

"We're planning an arc involving the characters from 'Frozen' and it also obviously involves the characters that already exist on 'Once,' but it's a close-ended story," Horowitz added. "We're more interested in what the movie explored, the relationship between sisters, and that relationship will be central to the story."

"Once Upon a Time" returns to ABC this fall.
