'Once Upon A Time Season 6' News and Updates: Sean Macguire Casted in 'Timeless'
The show's alumna is set to star in a James Bond movie
Robin Hood now has a license to kill.
Once Upon A Time alumna Sean Macguire, who played the bow-and-arrow-wielding vigilante in the show, has been casted to play Ian Fleming, also known as the author of the James Bond series, on NBC's new drama, "Timeless."
Plot details
A new time-travel series that follows along the vein of Doctor Who, the show will be about the adventures of an unlikely trio--a historian (Abigail Spencer), a scientist (Malcolm Barrett), and a soldier (Matt Lanter). They joined forces to try and stop Garcia Flynn (Goran Visjnic) from changing past events and distort the future. Each episode will explore a new point in history, and feature real-life historical figures to aid them in their adventures.
We'll see Macguire in the fourth episode of the series,"Party at Castle Varlar," where the trio will meet Fleming during his service as an undercover British agent.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producers Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan wrote in the famous British icon when they decided to do Nazi Germany for the episode.
Robin Hood killed
This comes as good news for the actor's fans, who were sad to see him leave "Once Upon A Time" during the last season. His character, Robin Hood, was killed as he threw himself in front of his love interest, Regina, to save her before she is killed by the former Underworld lord, Hades, with the Olympus crystal.
Certainly Macguire was sad about the way his character had to go on the show, saying he feels his ending was abrupt, without any significant development for his character. But he expressed his pleasure about working on the show, and even said that he'd "never say never" on the prospect of returning to the show.
Want to catch your favorite actor once again on the tube? No worries. Timeless will premiere Monday, October 3rd, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
