One Direction News: The Boy Band Goes Head-to-Head with Justin Bieber

Friday will be a big day for One Direction since Nov. 13 is the day that the foursome will release their brand-new album after Zayn Malik left the group. The group also will have to face an epic fight this Friday, since Justin Bieber is also slated to release his album, "Purpose," on the same day.

According to MTV News, the album showdown between the two music giants this Friday will be determined by the number of sales between Bieber's "Purpose" and One Directions' "Made in the A. M." Fans of Bieber and the pop boy band are all gearing up to make sure their idols comes out on top.

Entertainment Weekly (EW) described Bieber's sound and new album as "much more deliberately of the moment." The website added that it's a synthesis of modern R&B, and dance music, which might give the 21-year-old singer an advantage over the group. The album's earlier released singles, "What Do You Mean?" "Where Are Ü Now?" and "Sorry," are all chart toppers.

Meanwhile, One Direction's first two singles from "Made in the A. M.," which are "Perfect" and "Drag Me Down," were described by EW as two of the "least interesting" songs. The website also pointed out that the boy group seems to have fallen behind Bieber, since the Canadian singer is now exploring more of his adult voice.

Billboard has predicted the numbers between the battle of the two albums, and they predicted it will Bieber who will have an edge. According to the report, Bieber's album, whose price is selling less than One Direction's album, is expected to win the album sales. The website also considered Bieber's growing fanbase, which will definitely help him get more sales over the English-Irish group. Fans and critics will just have to see who will win the numbers game this Friday.
