OnePlus 3 Expected In Summer 2016; Rumored Specs Include Snapdragon 820, 3500mAh Battery
It's no secret that Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is working on their next flagship device which is the OnePlus 3. Although it has not been officially announced yet, several leaks and rumors have already surfaced online, giving fans a sneak peek of what the handset might possibly look like.
According to International Business Times, a leaked photo and short video clip has emerged and it showed the alleged design of the OnePlus 3. It revealed that the device will be sporting a black metallic frame with a curvier look which is not really seen in its predecessors, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus One.
It is also unique from the old models because the usual sandstone rear is now replaced with a brushed metal making the device appear more elegant than usual. Sources say that there will be other variants though that customers can choose from like ceramic and sandstone.
The OnePlus 2 model, according to GSM Arena, arrived in July 2015 and carried a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810. This time, the updated version will be carrying the Snapdragon 820, which means that the device will have better performance in terms of app use and multi-tasking. Two variants are also expected—one with 4 GB of RAM with 16 GB storage and possibly one with 5 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage.
The screen size and resolution are expected to be the same with the predecessor, which will be 5.5 inches and 1080 x 1920 pixels. The camera specs are also said to be just the same with the OnePlus 2 which is a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. However, the OnePlus 3 is expected to have a bigger battery pack which 3,500 mAh.
It's not yet officially announced when the device will be launched but there are rumors saying that it will be coming around summer 2016, which is a year after the OnePlus 2. The smartphone is also expected to follow the invite-only system.
