OnePlus Two Specs, Rumors, Release Date: Upcoming Android 'Flagship Killer' Could Be the Real Deal

OnePlus is a startup Chinese manufacturer that made headlines last year with its effective marketing strategy of targeting the current Android flagships from world-renowned brands. The OnePlus One promised consumers that it would boast flagship specs but would come at an affordable price tag.

Unfortunately, everything did not go as planned with the delay of shipments and the invite system.

However, this year, the Chinese company looks to change things and make up for its mistakes. According to a recent report, the OnePlus Two will be announced during the third quarter of this year.

But even before this quarter ends, a prototype has reportedly creeped up the rumor mill, showcasing some alleged specs.

In the benchmark Geekbench, the phone was listed as the OnePlus One, but it had a different model number. Some of the specs include an octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. For people who have been checking the latest updates about OnePlus, you may probably be aware that the successor to the OnePlus One would not get a CyanogenMod version.

Instead, OnePlus have developed its own, dubbed Oxygen OS.

Other rumored specs include a 3GB of RAM, and eight cores clocked at 1.55GHz.

In the report, the OnePlus Two could be priced cheap at around $400, just like the earlier model. There are also reports pointing to a cheaper OnePlus handset, which would hit the market before the year ends.
