Oppo R7 Plus Specs, Release Date: Meet The 'Slightly' High-End Android Smartphone From China
Oppo is doing a good job in its strategy to release a number of handsets that cater to varying market groups, especially in Asia. However, for the company's recent releases, was it able to make the right balance between high-end and midrange features?
The Oppo R7 and R7 Plus were both launched several days ago, and the two devices shouldn't have surprised anyone with their features and specs. That's because the two smartphones have graced the rumor mill for a while now.
However, now that the two devices are here, some people can't help but question the phones' place in the Android market.
Looking at the Oppo R7 Plus, it is a massive device that boasts some decent specs, but not the best and highest level of features by today's standards. It packs a 6-inch display with "only" a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 'just' a Snapdragon 615 chipset that supports 64-bit applications, and a 16GB built-in storage.
However, the phone boasts 3GB of RAM and a 2.5D display that is best in watching videos and even playing games. The device does offer a microSD card slot for storage expansion, but that is actually the second SIM slot for the device.
The Oppo R7 Plus packs a 13MP shooter with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash, and super slim side bezels. Completing the specs list include a CAT 4 LTE connectivity, and ColorOS v2.1 placed on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
For all these, the Chinese manufacturer charges about $480.
