Oppo R7 Plus Specs, Release Date: New Android Device Will Hit Stores On May 20
Now that the new Huawei high-end devices have been announced, it is time for another Chinese manufacturer to take the spotlight.
According to a report by GSM Arena, it looks like the upcoming Oppo smartphones would make their way to the market by next month.
The two rumored devices are the Oppo R7 and a higher-end model, the Oppo R7 Plus. Similar to what other manufacturers have done in recent months, the two devices have identical design, though the R7 Plus is tipped to get a bigger frame.
The Oppo R7 will boast a 4.7-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and probably some quality specs. However, what has captured the attention of tech geeks is the rumored 2.5D glass display that covers an almost bezel-less façade.
Unfortunately, the Oppo R7 will reportedly feature a body that is less than 5mm thin. As a result, the manufacturer can only fit a 2,000mAh battery.
Another notable specification is the rumored 20.7MP primary camera that will allegedly come with the device. Oppo first became popular internationally because of its N1 handset that has a swivel camera, so it would not be surprising if the Chinese brand would use the same formula.
The Android-powered handset is tipped to launch with a MediaTek MT6795 chipset that supports 64-bit applications and runs on an octa-core CPU.
Based on the report, the Oppo R7, together with a bigger R7 Plus, would be unveiled on May 20.
